I cannot add a new DC to the domain because it has no active servers to verify with. I have a child domain that has no active DCs, the servers that the DCs were on have been deleted. And Dropbox for teams is not a good solution due to the way Dropbox still wants to price storage and access based on pricing from years ago. If Dropbox does not change this we may be forced to remove Dropbox from Thousands of computers and go to another vendor. So why only the C drive? If we could redirect it to Network then we can keep our VDI images small and use our servers as better resources. So how come Dropbox does not allow Network storage is the real question? It should be allowed to store your copy of Dropbox files where ever you wish as the main reason for Dropbox is to sync same files across multiple machines and be accessible from any device. You also don't need offline files as your files are always available on the redirected network folder and using offline files would also eat up precious local VDI storage that is not really needed to be used. SO, why want to use Dropbox this way as well? If someone has a 10 GB Dropbox folder and only have 5 GB of drive left on their VDI machine, you would use all local storage for your dropbox folder. This also gives a much better backup solution and even if VDI was restarted or crashed, their data is always available on the redirected Network Drive.

We are able to make their VDI machine have a very small C Drive by redirecting their profile and redirecting their local drive to a network directory.

We use Dropbox as many people can use apps installed on their iPhones or iPads to get some documents that are in Dropbox they need access to fast and this does not require them to go through the full VDI login, search, find, etc process. We are doing the same thing, redirecting My Documents to a network drive as well as using roaming profiles with VDI.
